Why the Happiness Class?

As a person in general I consider myself usually optimistic therefore was intrigued by a class on Happiness. My program is Pastoral Care and Counseling. At this point, I consider happiness to be a worthy goal in life and wonder how my field can help contribute to the happiness of individual’s lives. I’m interested in finding/helping people discover that which inspires and fulfills them. I also wonder whether or not the criteria of what makes people happy will have any kind of pattern within subgroups such as age, gender, cultural and familial backgrounds. Personally, I want to be happy in life and would like to use my vocational endeavors to help others do the same.
