· Introduction: The economics pressure of increasing healthcare costs and great healthcare outcome are driving the search of ne approaches o health management. Currently, public policy is attaching importance to the role of consumers in managing their own health while partnership with healthcare providers.
· Background:MiVIA is a service specially designed for the migrant and seasonal workers in Sonoma, California. Their transient lifestyles contribute to poor health outcomes and increased costs (duplication of services or tests). MiVIA offers a solution while the purpose of it is to store and download health information and make that information available to multiple doctors and clinics.
· Learning Objective:Through this project, I will gain the field experience as well as the narratives experiences. Thus, from the narratives the readers should have understanding on how migrant workers handle their personal health record and how effective MiVIA is.
Analysis:How narratives would help to understand the effectiveness of MiVIA/ electronic personal health record used by migrant workers.
