PhD Student in Philosophy of Religion and Theology program (PRT) at CGU
Hi, my name is Max Johnson, and I'm a 3rd year PhD. student at CGU in the Philosophy of Religion and Theology program. My primary area of interest is in developing what one might call "Constructive Postmodern" approaches to both the Inter-faith and the Science and Theology dialogues. I am working to advocate a "contemplative-faciliatory" role for philosophy, rather than just, say, an "analytic" or "descriptive" role. My main influences in this endeavor include the work of various "process" philosophers and theologians, the Integral Spirituality of Ken Wilber, Lakoff/Johnson Metaphorical theory, and Spiral Dynamics socio-value theory. I also LOVE movies, music, and "agressive" (agro) in-line skating.
"Blade-er/Board-er" culture, "secular" manifestations of Religion (Religion and Pop Culture), Constructive Postmodernism, Graphic Novels, Integral approaches to human psychology, Inter-faith dialogue, Philosophical and Spiritual dimensions of Film and Television, Science and Thelogy dialogue, the relationship between Spirituality and Technology., World music
"Big Picture" thinking, brainstorming, clarifying complex concepts, long-format writing., speedreading, teaching
