Sumonta (Kate) Kasemvilas is a fifth year doctoral student in Information Science at Claremont Graduate University. Sumonta received her bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Khon Kaen University and master's degree in Computer Science from National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) in Thailand. She was a lecturer for both undergraduate and graduate levels at Khon Kaen University in Computer Science department for six years before coming to study Ph.D. at CGU in fall 2005. She is a research assistant in Social Learning Software Lab (SL2) at School of Information Systems and Technology (SISAT). She and her lab members developed an online social networking site for her school, www.SISATSpace.com, in spring 2006. Her research interests are Web and Internet technologies, online collaboration, and knowledge management. Her current research is developing plug-ins for Wiki to support group collaboration and knowledge sharing in classroom setting. Sumonta is also working with another lab member on social network analysis and anchored discussion tool. She is also a member of Knowledge Management Study Group at Claremont Graduate University and working on Knowledge Management Virtual Acculturation Space project.
