Introduction

Transdisciplinary Approaches to the Bible

This course is designed to examine the wide variety of approaches and uses--secular as well as sacred—that standard academic fields apply to what is, arguably, the most influential and ubiquitous book in western culture. Guest Faculty from the Claremont Graduate University and Colleges will speak to the impact of/use of/problem of The Bible in their fields. Fields covered will be: Archeology, Biblical Studies, Ethics/Philosophy, History, Literature, The History of the Book, Music and Popular Culture, Politics and Policy, Education, and Business.
