Final Project Home Page > 3 CGU History > Prospectus

Our contribution to the class project will be to provide a history of CGU which will put our study about different methods of scholarly inquiry into context.  As such, we have come up with four areas of inquiry in regards to CGU’s own “conversation.”  Kathryn will be researching CGU’s position within the Claremont Consortium of six colleges.  Seth will be researching the history of CGU in particular, focusing on James Blaisdell and his idea of a University as a “conversation.”  Justina will be researching the history of the Transdisciplinary Courses and their role in trying to create “conversation” by transcending the relative isolation of the eight separate schools at CGU.  Yessina will be interviewing faculty and asking them how CGU’s history and culture contributes to the “conversation” in which they are currently engaged.
